Bend Johnson Tries to Set the Cord Straight

15 years after a scandal that became the focal point of the 1988 Summer Olympics and the low point in the history of Canadian track and field, sprinter Ben Johnson continues his plight to clear his name of past charges against him.

Shortly after setting a world record in the 100 metres final during the Seoul Olympics, Ben Johnson was stripped of his gold medals, faster then you can say "Arnold for Prez" on steroids.

In a recent interview, found in the latest issue of the J.Crew catalogue, Ben "Bend" Johnson explains how he was wrongly accused of steroid use. In the same article Ben also discloses how he received the nickname "Bend" Johnson, and how a tragedy of endowment resulted in one of the biggest Olympic scandals ever.

According to Ben's recollection, he wasn't accused of steroid use as a result of the urine test, but argues that is was during the physical examination that Olympic officials drew their conclusion - when they saw his bent member.

On site doctors could only attribute the extreme curve to that of prolonged steroid use. One of the physicians on hand confused the situation further by recommending that they surgically remove the brown banana seat immediately. When the subsequent screaming had stopped, and Dr. Carl Lewis had submitted his findings, Ben "Bend" Johnson found himself less one gold medal and sitting atop the world's largest limited edition, extra large, brown, banana seat.

Fast forward to 2003 where Ben continues his struggle to reveal the truth to the rest of the world, while being subjugated by the movie that put Ice Cube and Jon Voight on the map.

Last month Bend attended the Extreme Games as a spectator, but shortly after arriving street lugers could be found lining up on Ben's Chest. Spectators overheard some of the lugers exclaim, "look at that wicked S-curve!"

Today Bend can be found spending his days employed as a plumber - a plumber that has a closer connection to his plumbers snake than most.

Incidentally, Bend Johnson has a pending lawsuit filed against Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, claiming that he was the original Ben and J-Low.
